Sharp calls its environmentally conscious products Green Products. In 1998, it formulated the Green Product Guidelines, which define development and design guidelines in line with seven concepts. The guidelines are used at all design and production sites in Japan and overseas.

All copier/printer models, and most LCD TV and air conditioner models, meet Energy Star requirements. As well, over 80% of copier/printer models are at least 30% more energy efficient than the Energy Star baseline. As for LCD TVs, over 60% of models are at least 30% more energy efficient than the Energy Star baseline, and one-quarter of models are at least 50% more energy efficient.
