Improving energy efficiency is one of Sharp's most important environmental challenges. What follows are some examples of our energy-efficient products.

A full 100% of Sharp TVs (61 models)* meet the Energy Star requirements (ver. 4.2), which went into effect May 1, 2010.
Almost 90% of them are at least 50% more energy efficient than the Energy Star baseline requires in SLEEP mode, and almost 50% of them are at least 30% more energy efficient in ON mode.
See Sharp's current selection of Energy Star-qualified TVs in the US market.
* Models that have been launched since May 1, 2010, the date the Energy Star requirements for TV went into effect.

A full 100% of Sharp MFPs (88 models)* qualify under the version of the Energy Star requirements for imaging equipment (ver. 1.1). Although the Energy Star requirements have been changed since July 1, 2009, 30% of them are at least 30% more energy efficient than the Energy Star baseline requires.
See Sharp's current selection of Energy Star-qualified MFPs in the US market and in the EU market.
* Models that have been registered since July 1, 2009, the date the Energy Star requirements for imaging equipment went into effect.

ENERGY STAR® is a voluntary Environmental Protection Agency program to promote energy-efficient products. ENERGY STAR®-qualified models have advanced technologies that enable them to use 10 to 50% less energy than the standard products in their categories. Sharp manufactures ENERGY STAR®-qualified models in a wide range of products, including televisions, computers, copiers, printers, monitors, facsimiles, air conditioners, and air purifiers. Many of these models employ specially designed and patented technology developed by Sharp expressly for reducing their energy usage without sacrificing the reliability and features customers expect.
