1. Request for Description of Chemical Substances in Specification Sheets
To further promote environmentally conscious manufacturing, we have been asking you for a description of chemical substances in the specification sheets for newly adopted parts and materials used since October 2003 , you, all the suppliers are required to submit the set of "Report on Chemical Substances Contained in the Product" and "Analysis Data" as evidence. We would be grateful for your understanding and your cooperation in our efforts to preserve the global environment.
1) Description of chemical substances in specification sheets
Please submit the set of "Report on Chemical Substances Contained in the Product" and "Analysis Data" to the final page of your specification sheet when sending to Sharp. Please download the "Report on Chemical Substances Contained in the Product", and fill them out.
An analysis data that is an evidence of "Report on Chemical Substances Contained in the Product" basically has to meets the requirements mentioned below (*). However, an alternative document (such as a composition table from a raw material maker) is acceptable if it can be used for verifying RoHS conformance.
- * Requirement for "Analysis Data":
Regarding each part/material, measured data on RoHS objective substances (Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBB, PBDE, DEHP, BBP, DBP, and DIBP) and organization name that measured it are required. If you judge the exemption of EU RoHS on your parts/materials, please describe the reason of it.
2) Subject parts and materials
All newly-adopted parts and materials. Packaging which is used for delivered parts/materials is applied. Please report the substances containing in the packaging with the same standard (threshold). However, the packaging is not applicable when it is clear that packaging will be discarded at Sharp site and no possibility of migration and adulteration of object substances to the parts and the materials.
Four kinds of phthalates (DEHP, BBP, DBP and DIBP) shall be restricted to use by EU RoHS directive after 22 July 2019. These are mainly used as plasticizer of soft resins and have the property of transferring (migration) from other articles by contact. Therefore it is concerned that those are migrate to the articles from packages or sheets using in workplace. For that reason, we would like to ask you to be careful not to migrate or contaminate during cleaning or handling.

3. Survey for Chemical Substances Contained in Parts and Materials
This survey is meant to assess the situation regarding chemical substances contained in parts and materials that are supplied to Sharp. Guidelines to reply the survey and the Survey Reply Tool are placed on the "Sharp Content Survey System". You can access this system after logging in the "SCOPE (SHARP procurement portal site)".
