Together We Can Change the World
Sharp Bases Worldwide Take Part in Earth Hour 2013 (Indonesia/Malaysia)

Children at an SEID event learn about the Sun's energy by building their own solar power generators

SEM stickers promoting Earth Hour were distributed at 15 Sharp bases throughout Asia

Sharp bases around the world took part in Earth Hour 2013 on March 23 with a range of activities.

Organized by the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature), Earth Hour is held every year on the last Saturday in March, when between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. local time, participants turn off non-essential lights in order to call attention to the problem of global warming. Over 100 countries have Earth Hour activities.

Sharp bases urged participation through emails, and distributed information and candles to make employees better understand the importance of global warming prevention. Companies turned off lighted signs to symbolize their solidarity with Earth Hour's goals.

P.T. Sharp Electronics Indonesia (SEID) in Jakarta set up space in the city, where an AQUOS running on solar power informed and entertained visitors, and where children could build their own miniature solar power generators.

Although Earth Hour is long over, Sharp will continue to raise awareness of the critical issue of global warming.
