Environmental Protection Activity in a City Forest(Indonesia)

Gathering over 70 participants

Planting 100 seedlings

Enjoying bird watching

On September 28, 2013, P.T.Sharp Electronics Indonesia (SEID) conducted an activity to protect Babakan Siliwangi, a forest in Bandung city located in the west part of Java, in cooperation with local high school students and people from the community.

Babakan Siliwangi has been recognized as Indonesia's first world city forest by United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and under the protection of Bandung city. In order to preserve the forest, which serves as a place of relaxation for the citizens, participants cleaned the area collecting 66kg of garbage and planted 100 seedlings.

After the activity, they enjoyed bird watching with binoculars and learned about living creatures in the wood and the environment. They also discussed the roles and various benefits of forests in order to raise awareness of protection of forests and biodiversity.
