SMTL Releases Crabs to Promote Ecosystem Preservation (Thailand)

Employees listen to explanations

Participants releases crabs into the sea

On June 7, 2014, Sharp Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (SMTL) carried out an ecosystem preservation activity at a seashore of Chanthaburi Province about 300km away from the factory.

SMTL incorporates a hands-on environmental preservation activity in the events of its company trip every year. This year, 200 employee participants released crabs in the sea of the natural reserve designated by the government. After receiving a lecture from local residents on the natural reserve and the precautions for safe release, the participants let about 200 crabs go into the sea after removing the strings binding the claws of crabs, paying attention not to be caught by those claws.

SMTL plans to conduct another environmental preservation activity in the company trip next year.
