SEMEX Holds Eco Lessons on Clean Energy (Mexico)

Participating employees and their children

Children turn the handle of the hand-held device to generate electricity

On July 19, 2014, Sharp Electronica Mexico S.A. de C.V. (SEMEX), Sharp's manufacturing base in Baja California, Mexico, invited the children of employees to Solar Academy classes. The Solar Academy is an environmental education program that a company of the Sharp Group in US has been promoting since 2008.

The participants of employees and their children learnt the system of solar cell modules and the importance of clean energy. They also experienced how hard it was to generate electricity by turning the handle of a hand-held device in the experiment.

At the end of the program was a factory tour that absorbed interest of employees' children as they walked around and had a look at their mothers' workplace they could rarely visit. They spent a day full of experience.

SEMEX will continue to promote the Solar Academy in the future.
