SOCC Holds Eco Education for an Elementary School (China)

Children take part in a power generation experiment

Children take part in a garbage sorting-out experiment

Sharp's affiliated companies in China hold eco education lessons for elementary schools in China, in cooperation with the China National Committee for the Wellbeing of the Youth.*1

On September 26, 2014 the employees of Sharp Office Equipments (Changshu) Co., Ltd. (SOCC), which manufactures MFPs, and members of the committee organized environmental education lessons for a local elementary school.

In the class on global warming and recycling activities, children experienced how hard it was to generate electric power manually and how important recycling was through hands-on experiments of generating power and sorting out plastics, metal, and aluminum.

After the class, those children commented that they would save electricity by using it diligently, and would sort out garbage and promote recycling. The lessons were very worthwhile and helped raise those children's awareness of environment.

  • *1 A committee is comprised of retired local governmental executives and company executives, and carries out various activities, in order to promote the sound development of the next generation youth. The committee kindly provides the Sharp's affiliates in China with advices on their eco education lessons for elementary schools.
