Mie Plant Holds Beautification Activity of Sana River (Japan)

On March 14, 2015, the Sharp Mie Plant held a cleaning activity in the Sana River running through the local Taki Town. This activity was established solely by the Mie Plant in 2004 with the aim of making the Sana River a place of recreation and relaxation for the region. Then the activity started the Sana River Beautification Association mainly composed of the local citizens in 2009, developed into an activity rooted in the region.

This year, including Sharp’s employees, one hundred participants of local citizens and companies in all picked up litter. As it was a chilly day in a drizzle unfortunately, the activity hours were shortened. However, all of the scheduled areas were cleaned up with two light trucks of garbage collected.

For the fiscal year 2015, activities such as cleaning and mowing as well as blooming field mustards along the riverside area have been scheduled.
