SRC Holds Environmental Education Class for Local Junior High School Students

Sharp-Roxy Corporation (M) Sdn. Bhd. (SRC), Sharp's production company in Malaysia, held an environmental education class for 83 local junior high school students on March 29, 2007.

SRC has held these classes in cooperation with the Kedah State branch of the Girl Guide Association of Malaysia*1 since 2006. This is the fourth such event, and some 1,500 students have attended the classes thus far. In the class, an SRC employee serving as the lecturer explains various environmental problems such as global warming, acid rain, and depletion of the ozone layer. He also outlines SRC's efforts to protect the environment. A discussion with the students follows about what they can do for the environment in their school, at home, and in the office.

As part of its efforts aimed at to becomeing a Super Green Factory*2, SRC is focusing on social contribution activities. The company will continue to offer such environmental education activities in the future alongside cleanup and tree-planting campaigns in the region.

*1 The Girl Guide Association of Malaysia was established in 1916 as an organization to provide educational activities and opportunities for girls outside the home and school. A member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.

*2 A factory having an extremely high level of environmental performance under governed by a system that evaluates and certifies production facilities in the Sharp Group based on groups following Sharp' own unique assessment standards.
