SUKM*1 (Sharp's manufacturing company in the U.K.) was honored with Green Hero Award by the Green Organization*2, an environmental activity group founded in the U.K., receiving a memorial trophy at its awarding ceremony held in London on June 11.

Being highly evaluated on its thoroughgoing compliance with the RoHS Directive*3, SUKM won, in November, 2006, a Silver Award in the category of trade and industry at the International Green Apple Awards, an award system organized under the sponsorship of the Green Organization. SUKM's activities were inserted into the Green Book published by the organization once a year which contains the examples of environmental best practice.
SUKM was highly recognized positive investment to the introduction of equipment for analyzing hazardous substances and its posture of disclosing such equipment to other enterprises. SUKM received Green Hero Award this year, its activities being chosen from about 100 examples in the Green Book as the best practice that enables many thousands around world to learn and benefit from its achievement.
