On October 24th, pupils from the Acton Park Junior school visited SUKM.
Accompanying them was a Mr John Vasey (a retired science teacher) who looks after special school
projects for about 10 or 12 junior schools.
On Mr Vasey's last visit to SUKM a poster campaign was devised around Sharp, Solar, the Environment, etc.
The pupils were informed that the best posters would win a prize for the school and pupils would
receive a smaller gift.
The pupils from Acton Park are from mixed-age classes and they are the school's Eco-monitors. It is their role
to check that lights are off in unoccupied areas, collect waste paper, implement waste segregation
within the school, take care of the school garden and even check the school field and playground for litter.
The pupils were given a tour of the Solar production facility during their visit and the posters
were handed in for judging.
The visit was enjoyed by all and the winning posters have been put on display in SUKM
(appropriately framed within a solar panel).
