Sharp Electronics (U.K.) Ltd. (SUK) donated 491 trees to its borough council in West London in a bid to
enhance a local beauty spot. The planting event took place on November 9, and despite the
cold November weather, 22 employees seized the opportunity with a great enthusiasm and enjoyment.
The event was organized with the London Hillingdon Borough Council (LHBC) to enhance a nearby green
area known as Lake Farm whose history goes back to medieval times. The area was purchased by LHBC
following a protest by the local residents when a businessman wanted to purchase it to extract
gravel and brick earth.
SUK was delighted to be able to help by financial and manpower to plant trees to show our support
for the preservation of the environment for the local community.
A deputy director of environment and consumer protection, London of Hillingdon, showed his gratitude,
commenting "It is great to see organizations taking an active interest in helping preserve the local
environment and the beautiful green spaces that Hillingdon has to offer."
SUK is committed to do everything possible to protect the environment, reduce our carbon footprint and
promote corporate environmental strategy to achieve our objective of becoming environmentally advanced company.
