SEC Contributes to Toy and Food Drives during the Holiday Season

Sharp Electronics Corporation (SEC) carried out two kinds of social contribution activities during holiday season: 'Toys for Tots' and 'the Blue Jeans Program.'

Under Toys for Tots, started by the US Marines in 1948 as a Christmas charity, new and unwrapped toys are collected and then presented to disadvantaged children during the holiday season. SEC put up a Christmas tree in the company cafeteria as a collection point. From November 28 to December 12, SEC employees donated a total of 250 toys.

Under the Blue Jeans Program, SEC employees who donated food for Food Bank, a charity organization that contributes food to people suffering from poverty, were entitled to wear jeans to work. Every Friday in December, plenty of donated food and blue jeans-attired employees gathered in the company cafeteria.

The donations collected by SEC will go to orphanages and social welfare facilities. SEC will promote CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) activities that contribute to the local community.
