On December 1, in cooperation with Chachoengsao Province, about 350 employees of Sharp Appliances (Thailand) Ltd. (SATL) planted mangrove seedlings along a nearby coast, part of a mangrove reforestation project sponsored by the Thai government in the name of King Bhumibol.
Mangrove trees in Thailand have been diminishing in recent years mainly due to the spread of shrimp farms. Planting the seedlings was a good opportunity for SATL employees to learn the importance of mangroves and protecting the natural environment. And the participation of about 100 local elementary and high school students also made it a chance to unite with the local community.
