On April 29, Sharp Manufacturing France S.A. (SMF: a manufacturing company in France) hosted 18 high school students from Guebwiller and 2 of their teachers on visit to Sharp.

These high school students had chosen the optional school subject matter called "DP3" - meaning "Discovery of Professional Business for 3 hours per week", for discovering the world of business.

SMF introduced activities of the Sharp group and the SMF plant to the students, with emphasis on environmental aspects. They were interested in environmental factors in manufacturing and asked questions about activities such as the choice of less polluting transport and energy saving.

SMF regards contacts with high schools as important to help young people build a career plan and to promote communication with the local communities.
