From March 3 to 5, 2010, Sharp Manufacturing Corporation (M) Sdn. Bhd. (SMM) held an exhibit on the theme of biodiversity to raise awareness and knowledge and get more employees taking action on this crucial issue.

Open to everyone at SMM and its suppliers, the fair had 19 booths run by SMM employees featuring explanations of biodiversity and what company divisions and workplaces are doing to protect the environment.

Technically, biodiversity is the variety of ecosystems, species, and genes in our world---but it also refers to the abundance of nature's gifts to humankind. With the existence of these gifts in danger due to the destruction of nature, the United Nations has declared 2010 the International Year of Biodiversity to heighten people's awareness of the need for environmental protection.

More than 3200 employees visited the fair for three days and deepen their understanding of how important to protect biodiversity.
