June 5 2010, was the United Nations declared World Environment Day. Sharp Group's various bases used this day as the focus for many events, minimized their offices' burden on the environment, and contributed to many local community activities.
Sharp Electronics (Singapore) Pte., Ltd. (SESL) started Eco Action Day on June 4. In an effort to raise their employees' environmental awareness, they concentrated on energy-saving methods and making their office more eco-friendly.
On June 5, manufacturing and sales bases in Shanghai combined their efforts to help beautify Shanghai's Century Park. Century Park is in the middle of Pudong New Area and is a large-scale park for the city's residents to rest in. This time around, a combined total of 201 employees and family members attended.
On June 10 and 11, Sharp Electrónica Mexico S.A. de C.V. (SEMEX) took part in the city of Rosarito's environmental exhibition. This exhibit was held to provide a learning opportunity for children and SEMEX created a booth where the kids could experience solar energy for themselves in the hopes to raise environmental awareness.
On June 9, Sharp Electronics (Europe) GmbH (SEEG) Austrian branch Sharp Central & Eastern Europe (SCEE) joined forces with the Free Green Austria NGO to engage in tree-planting activities in a city garden and kindergarten in Wiener Neustadt, located sourth of Vienna.
