Sales of LCDs were 254.9 billion yen, up 10.0% over the same period last year. Sales of large-size LCD panels for TVs grew as a result of the Kameyama No. 2 Plant becoming operational and a subsequent expansion of production capacity at the facility. Sales of System LCDs also grew, centered primarily on units for mobile phones.

Sales of Other Electronic Components were 74.7 billion yen, down 3.2% compared to the same period last year. Although sales of electronic devices destined for digital equipment grew, sales of solar cells were affected by a shortage of raw material, and were 30.4 billion yen, a decline of 22% over the same period last year.
