Sharp Corporation will introduce into the Japanese market seven new G-Series AQUOS models featuring Smooth Image Quality that renders color gradations with subtle detail and a heightened feeling of depth, and an ARSS Speaker System that enhances the sense of unity between picture and audio.
This G Series delivers Smooth Image Quality by reproducing subtle color gradations with rich detail and a powerful feeling of depth based on a TV contrast*4 of 15,000:1 and 12-bit BDE*5 color value rendering. This feature increases the perceived contrast by optimally controlling the backlight brightness and the aperture ratio of the LCD panel to match the video scene being shown, and uses proprietary brightness level control circuitry to reproduce subtle changes in color values (color gradations) for a smooth, natural-looking picture.
In addition, an ARSS Speaker System that places speakers underneath and on both sides of the screen provides both rich bass sound plus a well-balanced stereo effect. This arrangement increases the sense of unity between the picture and sound, as well as creating a viewing environment with a realistic feeling of presence.
Also, Sharp’s “AQUOS.jp” Web site, a content service for AQUOS owners, has been further enhanced, allowing users to enjoy the latest video images in full HD, including high-definition, high-image-quality photos and illustrations. These G-Series models are also compatible with AQUOS Familink*6, an advanced interface that enables viewers to use the accessory remote control unit for easy operation of an AQUOS Blu-ray Disc Player, AQUOS HD Recorder, or AQUOS Audio System connected via an HDMI cable to the AQUOS TV.
