Kameyama Plant No. 1

Since starting operation in 2004, Kameyama Plant No. 1 has been pioneering a new era of LCD TVs and is still evolving today.

Kameyama Plant No. 1 started operation in January 2004 as a state-of-the-art facility that carries out integrated production of large LCD TVs from manufacture of LCD panels to final assembly of TV sets. Since then, the LCD TVs manufactured at this industry-leading plant have been praised for their quality and have established the “made in Kameyama” brand image.

Sixth-generation glass substrates perfect for 30-inch-class TVs

Sixth-generation glass substrates, used for the first time in the world at Kameyama Plant No. 1, measure 1,500 x 1,800 mm. These glass substrates efficiently yield eight 32-inch panels or six 37-inch panels ideal for producing LCD panels for the 30-inch-class TVs that are now in high demand. The Kameyama Plant’s initial capacity for substrate input was15,000 panels per month; that was increased to 60,000 per month in March 2006.

Stable production of full-HD panels

LCD TVs featuring full-HD panels precisely reproduce the high-resolution images of high-definition broadcasts. Although the stable production of full-HD panels is extremely difficult to carry out because of the advanced manufacturing technology required, making it, Kameyama Plant No. 1 succeeded in doing so. The know-how gained at Plant No. 1 has been passed on and improved upon at Plant No. 2.
