Kameyama Plant No2

Ready to impress the world with larger and more beautiful LCD TVs on an unparalleled scale, Kameyama Plant No2 has started operation.

To meet the rapidly increasing worldwide demand for large, flat-panel TVs, Kameyama Plant No. 2 uses the world’s largest eighth-generation glass substrates, which are ideal for producing the panels used in 40- and 50-inch-class LCD TVs.

The world’s largest eighth-generation glass substrates yield large LCD panels

With screen sizes getting larger, display quality improving, and digital broadcasting spreading, demand for large LCD TVs that allow people to enjoy the high resolution and superb sound of digital, high-definition broadcasts is expected to keep growing.
To meet this growing demand, Kameyama Plant No. 2 uses the world’s largest eighth-generation glass substrates, which measure 2,160 x 2,460 mm*1. Kameyama Plant No. 2 will also promote manufacturing innovations, such as dramatically reducing costs and improving manufacturing processes.

Becoming a more environmentally conscious plant on this larger scale

・Massive scale, high productivity and efficiency

Eighth-generation glass substrates are approximately 1.9 times larger than sixth-generation glass substrates

Investment productivity is doubled (in terms of 45-inch panel equivalents)

Production lead-time is cut in half

・Advanced environmental friendliness

All of the water used in the manufacturing process is recycled
