Harmony of Technologies

Image: LCD panel engineers, TV audio-visual engineers, and related-component engineers meet and discuss at the Kameyama Plant to give full play to their collective expertise.

Harmony of technologies gives rise to Kameyama panels

An LCD panel is made up of a variety of components. Only when all components are optimally suited to each other can the finished LCD panel give full play to its superior display features. In order to realize this, close communication between engineers is essential.
The Kameyama Plant is not far from other previously established Sharp LCD plants: the Tenri Plant in Nara Prefecture and the Mie Plant in the town of Taki, Mie Prefecture. Because these plants are located about one hour by car from each other, engineers familiar with state-of-the-art LCD technologies can effectively share their know-how and promote the evolution of new LCD technologies then bring them to fruition at the Kameyama Plant.
Encouraged by Mie Prefecture’s scheme of developing a “Crystal Valley,” numerous companies in the flat-panel-display industry have moved to the area, enabling Sharp to deepen its communication with related companies and to exponentially increase the speed at which it develops new components and designs products.

Harmony of technologies gives rise to Kameyama TVs

The Kameyama Plant is the world’s first integrated facility for the streamlined production of LCD TVs, carrying out everything from manufacture of LCD panels to final assembly of TV sets. Integration results not only in greater efficiency, but also in the harmonizing of LCD technologies and TV audio-visual technologies, which, in turn, brings synergy to the Kameyama Plant.
The development of LCD panels to display the digital images of high-definition television and the development of audio-visual devices that can fully bring out the virtues of LCD panels are the essence of manufacturing brought about by Kameyama engineers. When industry-leading engineers from different departments communicate closely, our manufacturing ability is strengthened even further.
