1976
First calculators with solar cell batteries released.

Sharp was the first in the world to commercialize an all-transistor calculator in 1964, and continued to develop a more compact, affordable product. By using a liquid-crystal display and solar cell batteries, calculators that were 25 kg in 1964 became a mere 0.26% of that by 1976, at 65 g.
