Solar power system performance is not determined solely by the cells

In the case of a crystal silicon solar cell, the smallest dimension at which the photovoltaic function can be achieved is a rectangular shape approximately 10 cm x 15 cm. A module (panel) is a group of solar cells packaged together on a flat surface for obtaining an appropriate amount of voltage. A group of modules arranged on a collection platform, such as a roof, for the purpose of obtaining a large amount of electricity, is called an array. Sharp is engaged in carrying out all steps from cell and module production to installation in an integrated manner.

The reason for this is that solar power system performance is not determined solely by the cells, and know-how is required in order to plan for high efficiency at various stages in the development and implementation of the system, such as in planning the distribution of electrodes, and the properties of the inverter for converting the DC current generated by receiving sunlight to AC current.
